A RANGE of photos taken by young people have formed a pop-up display in Poole town centre.

The Mayor of Poole, Cllr Xena Dion, helped to launch the photographic exhibition in Kingland Crescent next to Nationwide, which is a collaboration between Poole Housing Partnership, Turlin Moor Youth Centre and the Arts University Bournemouth.

Images have been captured by young Turlin Moor residents aged between 11 and 16 featuring a host of landscapes, people, animals and objects.

Cllr Xena Dion said: "It is wonderful to see the work of Poole’s talented young photographers on display for everyone to see, especially in the run-up to Christmas when so many people will be passing by.

"I was delighted to officially launch the exhibition and to meet the photographers who were clearly very proud of their work, and rightly so."

Clare Sutton from PHP (Poole Housing Partnership), said, “Over 50 people showed up, which was a brilliant turnout on a chilly evening, made extra-special with the arrival of the Mayor of Poole. I think everyone was genuinely stunned by the quality of the work and everyone involved should be extremely proud."

The photos can be seen in Kingland Crescent until the end of December before they are moved to the Civic Centre.
