Two people were rescued after their boat ran aground in fog near Brownsea Island.
Poole RNLI's inshore lifeboat was tasked at 10.45pm on Wednesday to the 23ft angling boat with two people on board.
The harbour was shrouded in fog and the angling boat had run aground close to the rocks.
Using radar and DF (direction finding system), the lifeboat crew picked up a signal and located the boat, alongside the nature reserve Lagoon on Brownsea Island.
After checking the boat and crew over, a tow line was attached and the boat was pulled back into deeper water away from the rocks.
An RNLI spokesperson said once the boats were closer to Poole Quay, the fog had cleared and the angling boat was able to continue to their mooring at Poole Quay.
The incident was over by midnight.
