A FOUR metre globe containing hundreds of LED bulbs will be lighting the way for Christmas shoppers at Poole's Dolphin Centre.
Local artist and composer Richard McLester's masterpiece, The Light, will be suspended from the ceiling of the centre and unveiled on Thursday November 26 at the first late night shopping event.
From 7pm shoppers will be able to enjoy a visual multi-media performance with a live concert, spectacular light display and a series of projections on the outside of the sphere.
Richard, who on the evening will be playing a grand piano, will be joined by a community choir to perform a concert of music he composed called Songs of the Light.
Dolphin Centre manager, John Grinnell said: “This is the first time anything on this scale has been done in a shopping centre and we are really excited to be hosting The Light throughout the Christmas period.
"It will add another element to our Christmas offering and we hope the shoppers enjoy the art installation. Supporting local talent is important to us and The Light is truly unique.”
The project involved filming interviews with local people which will be projected onto the globe during the evening.
