An injured cat that had been stuck in a tree for more than 24 hours was rescued by firefighters in Poole this afternoon.
Officers from the RSPCA requested the assistance of Dorset Fire and Rescue Service to retrieve the animal from a tree in Ledgard Close, Lower Parkstone.
One crew from Poole was called to the scene at 2.40pm.
A spokesman from Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said: “Upon arrival the service liaised with the RSPCA officer in attendance at the incident, and using a 9m Ladder and the services safe working at height equipment the crews managed to retrieve the cat."
