FIREFIGHTERS attended a number of incidents across Dorset over the bank holiday weekend.

The fire control room received a number of calls to reports of a large fire at a garden in Connaught Crescent, Branksome, just after 12.30am on Monday. One fire crew from Westbourne attended and found garden furniture to be well alight. The fire was extinguished using one hose reel jet.

Firefighters from Westbourne also attended a fire in the open at Durley Gardens at 9.38pm on Sunday night. This was confirmed to be a bonfire that was under control. Crews gave advice before returning to the station.

One fire engine and a Land Rover from Blandford were called to a camper van fire at the Teddy Rocks festival at Charisworth Farm late on Saturday night. The fire was caused by unattended cooking and was extinguished using one hose reel jet, breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera.

In Christchurch, firefighters were sent to Stony Lane at 9.07pm on Sunday night to a report of a fire in some bushes. On arrival, it was found to be a controlled burn.

Poole firefighters were sent to a fire in the open at Lytchett Bay at 6.15pm on Sunday. It was found people had been setting small fires which were out on arrival, they also dealt with a fire in the open in Sea View Road at 8.28pm.

At 12.51am yesterday morning, one fire engine from Redhill and another from Springbourne attended alarms sounding at a property on Priory Road, Bournemouth. This was confirmed to be a false alarm.
