A FLOOD warning has been issued for North Dorset.
Groundwater flooding is expected for North Winterbourne, north of the A354.
The warning is in force now and means “flooding is expected, immediate action required”.
Despite the sustained rise in groundwater at Delcombe Wood borehole levelling off slightly overnight, levels are set to rise again and towards the middle of this week.
The Environment Agency said: “The road is flooded just upstream of the village hall in West Street in Winterbourne Stickland and the bow wave from vehicles is causing problems for cottages adjacent to the road.
“Properties between the mill stream and the road are at particular risk and should take immediate action to implement their flood plans and install property resilience measures.
“Elsewhere in the North Winterbourne valley, residents are advised to prepare protection measures and take particular care when driving, both for their own safety and to prevent flooding to others.”
