TWO people - including a minor - who entered the UK illegally were found following an immigration raid at a nail salon in Blandford.

Immigration enforcement officers carried out an operation on Thursday afternoon at Luxury Nails in Market Place, Blandford.

A 20-year-old man from Vietnam, working at the salon, was found to have entered the UK illegally. He must now report regularly to the Home Office while his case is dealt with.

During the raid a second person on the premises, who was not seen working, was also found to have entered the UK illegally.

He was a minor, also from Vietnam, and has been passed into the care of social services.

Luxury Nails could face a £20,000 penalty if it is unable to prove they carried out the correct checks on the 20-year-old.

The Home Office said officers were acting on intelligence and were supported by Dorset Police.

The Echo has contacted Luxury Nails for comment.

People are asked to contact the Home Office if they think someone is living or working in the UK illegally, or is employing someone who isn’t allowed to work in the UK.
