PLANS to enlarge a house have been thrown out after being branded “unneighbourly”.

Proposals to build single and two-storey extensions to a property in Queen Katherine Road, Lymington, were turned down by the district council’s planning committee.

Agent Gary Bradford, representing the applicants, said the original application had been amended in a bid to overcome objections.

He stressed that other properties in the road had been extended, adding that his clients were asking for “fairness and consistency”.

But neighbour Honour Williams said the “bulky” extensions would block daylight to her home.

She added: “The sheer size is nearly double the bulk and depth of the property, and because of the orientation of the house the neighbours are affected. The proposed development is unneighbourly and dominant and will create a shadow.”

Cllr Alan Penson said: “The extension is a little bit too big and close to the neighbour.”
