A POPULAR outdoor aqua park will be launching a new area designed exclusively for youngsters when it re-opens this weekend.

The Total Wipeout-style inflatable assault course at New Forest Water Park, in Fordingbridge, opens on Saturday, April 29.

The attraction, which is returning for its third season this year, will be providing a ‘kids' zone’ with facilities for the 7-to-14-year-old age range.

Young thrillseekers can expect to tackle inflatable hurdles, stepping stones, a slide, balance beam, and an innovative roundabout in the centre of the course, which is in a figure of eight layout.

Thousands of people enjoyed the assault course last year, which is designed by German manufacturer Wibit.

Following the success of the extended course last season, there was demand for a designated area on the freshwater lake for young participants to enjoy the attraction in a controlled environment.

Mark Jury, MD of New Forest Water Park, said: “I’ve been running the water park for nearly 27 years now, and the introduction of the Wibit modules has proved to be so successful in terms of the fun factor, but also the fitness element.

“Last year we were inundated with enquiries for private hire for youngsters, so we have listened to our customers and are launching Kids' Zone in April.”

The kids' zone will accommodate up to 30 children and can be booked out exclusively at weekends for parties and events.

New Forest Water Park claims to offer the biggest Wibit aqua course in the country, and they were the first to open one in 2015.

Footage of people using the Wibit went viral on the internet when it opened.

In addition to the on-water modules, the park offers up a range of activities including wakeboarding, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding, and has a clubhouse with a new sundeck area. Camping facilities are also available for overnight stays.
