HUNDREDS of people packed out New Milton Recreation Ground yesterday for the Lions Club Annual May Fayre.
Crowds were transported back to 14th century England with a Medieval combat display, while The Quayside Cloggies provided the musical entertainment.
There was also a performance by The Crescendi Choir, live jazz and numerous stalls and stands.
Visitor Paul Harris told the Daily Echo: "We thought we'd bring the kids down to take a look, and there's quite a few things to do. Not bad for a free event.
"This sort of community occasion should be supported - especially if locals want them to survive.
"I particularly liked the sword display."
The Deeds of Arms costumed players completed a number of demonstrations throughout the afternoon, using real weapons.
A group spokesman said: "Chose your heroes and insult your villains as we take you on a journey back to times of action-packed spectacle.
Welcome to history as you've never seen it."
