ORGANISERS for this year's Macmillian Cycletta in the New Forest have revealed the routes for the women only event.

Starting at Beaulieu Palace on Sunday (SEPT 20), the routes comprise of 20km, 50km, 100km and 150km, and will see hundreds of ladies take to their bikes travelling through such villages as Fawley, Brockenhurst, Burley and Lymington.

Each of the routes follows the same path from the palace, with a steep climb towards the Hill Top, before passing by Fawley and heading towards the coast. Those tackling the longer distances go onto Mill Dam and then either Norleywood or Brockenhurst and Burley depending on the length of their route.

Now in its fourth year, organisers are expecting it to be bigger than ever before.

Gillian Daly, senior press relations manager at Macmillan Cycletta, said: "We're really looking forward to the ladies taking on the challenge with these magnificent routes, which take in so much of the stunning New Forest countryside. As the date of the event draws nearer, more and more ladies are signing up to take part and it’s shaping up to be a busy day."

A mini fun triathlon, nick-named the Scootathlon, will be held for children from four-to-eight-years-old.
