- Five fire engines from Dorset and two from Hampshire tackled the fire.
- Police were on the scene and roads were closed so emergency services can tackle the blaze.
- Salisbury Road has now been re-opened but Derritt Lane remains closed.
- Nobody is thought to have been injured in the blaze.
- There will be significant damage to the cottage, according to fire crews.
