AN INITIATIVE spearheaded by a supermarket and a well-known charity will bring Christmas cheer to those in need this month.
Ringwood’s branch of Waitrose has teamed up with food bank organisation The Trussell Trust to launch a Christmas donation list and year-round food donation points in the supermarket.
Customers will have the opportunity to help vulnerable people in the festive season by donating items at those points.
These items will then be collected by food banks and distributed to those in the community who need them most.
As well as essentials, the list will feature items we often take for granted at this time of year, such as children’s selection boxes, Christmas crackers and mince pies, to make a huge difference to those in need.
