WOULD-BE thieves attempted to ram a garage in Corfe Mullen last month.
Police believe the offenders smashed a vehicle into the doors of the outbuilding in Chapel Lane on September 20.
No entry was gained to the garage.
A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "Thankfully the door remained secure and no access was gained.
"A suspicious red transit van was seen in the area a few days before.
"A motorist was driving slowly and paying attention to properties."
Officers from the neighbourhood policing team can provide home and garden security checks.
