A HOST of performances will take place this spring thanks to Dorset charity Artsreach.

The organisation brings live music, theatre and dance to rural areas, with more than 60 productions set to take place in the new year in village halls, churches and other community spaces.

Among the acts lined up to perform are pair Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman, who claimed the title of 'best duo' at the 2016 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

Ensembles from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra will continue to visit rural locations through the programme.

Harbour Voices, a twenty-strong group of men and women, are due to present traditional shanties and original songs and tales of the Dorset coast. Internationally acclaimed classical guitarist Ian Watt will share his extensive repertoire in two of the county's halls.

Several theatre companies are also set to make their debuts through the organisation during the spring, including Townsend Productions and comedy pairing Spitz & Co.

The dancers of Norway’s Panta Rei Danseteater will also visit the county.

A series of family-friendly productions are planned, with favourites Angel Heart making a return.
