Stella Guest, 79, a retired secretary from St Catherine’s Hill, said: “I’m really excited about it. We spend a lot of time here and we want to know what is going on here.”

Gerry Guest, 80, a retired electrician also from St Catherine’s Hill, said: “It’s a great thing to see in this town. I hope that it gets a lot of support from the local people.”

Alina Diaconu, 29, the manager of the Saxon Centre from Southbourne, said: “It’s an absolute pleasure to have the newspaper back. It will be something very good for the community and hopefully it will bring more people to the area.”

Brian Wellstead, 78, who is retired and from Fairmile, said: “The newspaper is a great idea and I’m glad to see it back. It gives us the local interest and stories that we really want to know about.”

Pamela Wellstead, 72, retired coil winder also from Fairmile, said: “Christchurch is a real community area so it is great to have a paper that is going to keep us up to date with what is going on.”

Matt Coply, 48, who runs MC Cleaning Services from Highcliffe, said; “It is definitely something that I will read. If it is going to have all the local news and classified adverts in than that is good for me.”

Paul Tilbury, 77, retired after serving in the Merchant Navy from Walkford, said: “I came to the town centre to see the launch of the paper after seeing it advertised. I’m looking forward to reading it because I am in the area quite a bit.”

Mayor Trish Jamison, from Highcliffe, said: “I think it is fantastic. There is a lot in it and I hope that it comes out with all the news about Christchurch, not just the good news but the bad as well.”

Councillor Lesley Dedman, from Mudeford, said: “I like it because it is Christchurch based which is good and going back to the Christchurch Times is how it should be. I’m hoping that it will be very informative for us.”
