A woman's body was pulled from the river near Tuckton Bridge on Christmas Day.
Emergency services were called to a stretch near the tea gardens at around 10.15am.
It is believed the 78-year-old woman was a resident of the Retired Nurses Home in Riverside Avenue, about two miles from where her body was found. Police, coastguards and an RNLI crew from Mudeford were involved in the recovery of the body. The coroner has been informed and a post mortem examinaton will be held on a date to be fixed.
