LYMINGTON Road in Highcliffe is shut this morning after a crash near the Globe pub.
A Volvo car is believed to have skidded on the road surface. It then left the road and smashed through a wall before hitting a parked Toyota.
The wall and a lamppost have been demolished.
No serious injuries have been reported.
A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "We were called at 4.50am to reports that a black Volvo S40 had collided with traffic lights and street furniture before going into a garden wall of an address in Lymington Road, Highcliffe.
"A parked Toyota was also damaged in the incident.
"The road has been closed between the junction of Wharncliffe Road to the A337 roundabout to allow for investigations to be carried out and for the area to be made safe by the local authority.
"Two people have been taken to hospital. Their injuries are unknown.
"An investigation is underway. No arrests have been made."
An eye-witness said he heard a "loud bang" shortly before 5am. Three people were inside the car at the time of the collision, he said.
