THOUSANDS of pounds raised at a golf day have been handed over to Cancer Research UK.

Bellway Homes Wessex raised £15,000 for the charity at their inaugural golf day.

The event was organised by Sandy Barnes, commercial director of Bellway Homes Wessex, and her team of willing volunteers.

“It was a really great day and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. People were very generous and we can’t thank them enough for helping us to make this such a successful event.

"We were asked by many of the teams if we could stage another golf day next year so the date has already been booked for the end of August at Remedy Oak.”

Stuart Amey, area fundraising manager, who also took part in the golf day, went along to the office in Christchurch to collect the cheque.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to Bellway Homes Wessex on behalf of Cancer Research UK for their hard work.

"The golf day was a massive success and the money raised will help Cancer Research UK achieve our goals to Beat Cancer Sooner. I am looking forward to working with Bellway Wessex over the coming year to raise more funds and to grow an already fantastic partnership.”
