THE moment a bride and groom arrived at their wedding reception in Christchurch last week was made even more special thanks to a tuneful flashmob surprise.

Newly-weds Suzie and Tom Owen arrived by boat at the Captain’s Club Hotel in Christchurch, to be greeted by members of the Funky Little Choir who immediately burst into song for the happy couple.

Organised by Suzie’s brother Jimmy Cregan, the pair were ‘blown away’ by the gesture, with the video being shared by the hotel and seen by thousands of people online.

Suzie and Jimmy are the creators of the hit drink Jimmy’s Iced Coffee which is based in Christchurch.

Cheryl Davies, senior wedding and event planner at the top hotel, said: “When I found out about the flash mob a couple of days before my first thought was how are we going to pull this off but Sandie and her choir were amazing and the bride and groom were beyond surprised.

“As a wedding planner you always want to exceed your couple's expectations and I think that was certainly achieved.”

Sandie Elkins, musical director of Funky Little Choir, who regularly perform at festivals and events across Dorset and further afield, said: “Jimmy heard us at Camp Bestival and asked if we would come and perform for Suzie’s wedding.

“We sang ‘With a Little Help From My Friends’, ‘Under Pressure’ and ‘A Change is Gonna Come’.

“She had absolutely no idea and just sobbed.

“It was an honour to do it. We were so pleased we could be a part of making their day special.”

The soaring success of Jimmy’s Iced Coffee has seen the drink stocked in major supermarkets with advertising campaigns from the company going viral.

The siblings came up with the recipe in the coffee shop, Blend, Suzie used to own in Christchurch High Street.

And they have also released two rap singles promoting their brand.

The latest, ‘Who Got the Beans?’ followed their first hit, ‘Keep Your Chin Up’.

The video for the latest release was filmed in familiar Bournemouth locations including Bournemouth Pier, with scenes shot in front of the carousel, and Lansdowne.
