The first full day of the Christchurch Festival got underway on Saturday.

The popular annual event started on Friday night and runs until Sunday evening. 

Run by volunteers, the family-friendly event features live music on The Quomps on Christchurch Quay and dance troupes throughout the town. 

There will be music from 15 bands across two stages. 

Last night Saints of Sin and Pronghorn performed and live music kicks off today at 12.30pm with Willoween.

Other acts lined-up include Riverside Blues Band and Fearne with The Fliks headling at 9pm.

Then on Sunday, Boscombe Ukelele Social will kick things off at 12pm with Lady Winwoods Maggot closing the event from 6.15pm.

Bands on the second stage include The BBC, Chloe, Eyre, Fish out of Water, Alice Kendall, Chopper's Children, The Blues Machine, Infinite Jest,
Lee Rasdall-Dove and Southern Corruption.

Saturday tickets are £5 or £8 for a weekend ticket.
