A MYSTERY find at a disabled toilet has sparked appeals for information.
Representatives at Christchurch Borough Council have come forward to ask for help after a large number of paintings were found strewn around the facility at Mudeford Recreation Ground.
Around 50 original watercolours were discovered on December 20 at the site, and all have been signed by the same artist, Mel Barber.
However, it is not believed that the artist is from Dorset.
Artists from the Christchurch and District Arts Council have so far been unable to trace the painter, and one said both the style and the signature are unfamiliar.
A spokesperson from the borough council said: “If anyone knows where they’re from and how they came to be in the toilets, we’d ask them to contact our Customer Services on 01202 795000 or email customer-services@christchurchandeastdorset.gov.uk.”
