A CHARITY set up by Christ-church resident and Arsenal football legend Bob Wilson is celebrating a milestone with a special exhibition.

Willow was set up by Bob and his wife Megs in memory of their daughter Anna, who died of cancer aged 31, and was inspired by Anna’s love of life.

The charity, which supports seriously ill 16 to 40-year-olds by providing unique and positive Special Days, is marking its 10,000th Special Day with the photography exhibition Just One Word.

Ten beneficiaries of a Willow Special Day have been photographed for the project, each sharing their own unique and moving story. Aged between 21 and 40, they are all living with a range of life-threatening conditions including organ failure, muscular dystrophy and cancers at various stages.

The beneficiaries describe the emotional impact of their Special Day in just one word and they and their word have each been photographed by leading UK photographers in a stunning collection of images.

Accompanied by personal testimonies, each explains their own moving story, how their Special Day made them feel and how the memories of that day continue to make a real and positive difference to their lives.

The exhibition is on display at Buckingham Gate in London on October 15 and 16 from 10am.
