I'm pleased that the Wheels Festival may not be repeated.
The motto of Bournemouth is ‘cleanliness and beauty’ and whoever dreamt up the Wheels and Air Festivals created something contrary to the town’s brand values.
Let’s realign those values.
I’d like to suggest that the council develops an anti-car policy in the future.
We have a superb bus service.
We have local entrepreneurs creating car sharing schemes.
There are lots of reliable taxi companies.
In Springbourne, where we live, the roads are blighted by too many cars parking on pavements.
The conurbation’s traffic jams reduce the quality of life of everyone.
The money invested in the Wheels Festival needs to go on a BIC trade show exhibiting all the alternatives to motor car ownership in the 21st century.
