A SUMMER fete weekend takes place next month in memory of a keen charity fundraiser from Bournemouth who died aged 27.

The family of Jo Snooks, who died on March 29, are putting on a host of entertainment at Avon Social Club, on Avon Road in Charminster, across the weekend of August 29 and 30.

Funds raised will be going to St Thomas' Hospital in London, which treated Jo for six weeks after she collapsed suddenly in February from breathing difficulties and other problems.

Her aunty, Debbie Snooks, said: "Last year, Jo organised a family day at the same venue for Lewis-Manning Hospice in Poole and we just decided that we would carry it on this year in her memory."

Jo also took part in the annual Christmas Dip for Macmillan Caring Locally and the Race for Life.

Debbie says they have raised £1,658 for St Thomas' Hospital so far but are hoping the event will boost that amount.

Entertainment is set to run from 1pm on both days including the Dolphin Marching Band, stalls, a Minion, Olaf from Frozen, live music, magic show and more.
