STAFF from B&Q Poole donated time and materials to get Dexter Sports Youth Football Club back into prime condition.

They rallied round to show their support after the club’s president, Lorraine Kybert, asked the store for help.

Six B&Q store staff committed their own time to help give the club a facelift. The store donated paint, matched to the team’s red and blue, and volunteers repainted the outside window frames and doors. New kitchen cupboards and work surfaces were put in and the toilets were replaced.

The club has been at the heart of the community since it was founded in 1975. In that time, a number of B&Q’s employees have been part of the club and today many of their children are involved.

B&Q Manager Kevin Mulvey, a coach at the club, said: “I’ve been a coach at Dexters for 11 years and my son plays for the team. We all have a personal connection to the club and were excited to be able to give something back.”

Lorraine Kybert, President of Dexter YFC said: “I was over the moon when the store offered to help. The support they have shown has been amazing and is going to make such a difference to everyone at the club.”
