RESIDENTS across Dorset awoke to a frosty start this morning as temperatures plummeted to minus degrees overnight.

In Hurn, the Met Office recorded temperatures as low as -6C at 4am and 7am.

Gritters were out in force across Dorset and the New Forest last night as clear spells led to freezing roads.

Arrowsmith Road in Broadstone was affected by ice and the road has been closed after a two-vehicle accident

Temperatures will feel like 4C up until 12noon and then slowly rise to 8C before rain sweeps in at 6pm tonight.

Tomorrow will be sunny and dry with highs of just 6C, while Sunday will be cloudy with highs of 8C.

There are currently no weather warnings in place by the Met Office.
