A WEST Howe home has been closed by magistrates after neighbours reported numerous incidents of "disorder and violence".

The property at 162F Turbary Park Avenue is shut for three months after Bournemouth council officials successfully applied for a closure order at Poole Magistrates' Court.

The occupant - 35-year-old Leila Angel Green - has been barred from the address under the order.

Seamus Doran, tenancy services manager for the council, said "serious" allegations were made about issues at the property.

"The closure order was obtained because of serious, ongoing anti-social behaviour caused by residents of the property and their visitors," he said.

"There were numerous visits by the police to deal with disorder and violence, and in addition there were concerns regarding the misuse of drugs.

"This was having a significant impact on other residents and the order will help protect the local community while we take further action."

Magistrates said "access is prohibited to all persons" as part of their ruling.

Councillor Robert Lawton, who has responsibility for housing, said: "We obtained a closure order for the person living at that property.

"This was done because of concerns of anti-social behaviour and the misuse of drugs.

"It's also alleged threats of violence were made to neighbours living near that particular property.

"The occupant of the property has now left and the premises are empty.

"We'll aim to obtain a full repossession order for that particular address."

The order was made by magistrates on May 10.

In February, Green was sentenced to 22 weeks in prison after admitted defrauding a man at an address in St Valerie Road on July 18 2017 by transferring £500 from his account into her own, driving while disqualified and related matters of driving without insurance, failing to stop, failing to provide a specimen of blood and failing to surrender to custody. She also admitted failing to surrender into the custody of the court and commission of a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge order for a period of 12 months made on June 12 2017 for driving while unfit through drugs, related charges of driving without insurance, an MOT and a licence and failing bail.

Cllr Lawton said: "We at the council do not tolerate anti-social behaviour, and we certainly don't tolerate reports of illegal, drug-related activity and allegations of threats to intimidate neighbours."
