POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a woman was assaulted in Christchurch.
The incident occurred sometime between 10pm and 11pm on Saturday, March 17, outside Arcado Lounge on High Street.
The victim - a 27-year-old woman from Bournemouth - was pushed into a street junction box and assaulted.
A 31-year-old man from Bournemouth, who is known to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Investigations officer Lucy Wickham, of Bournemouth CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to please contact Dorset Police.
“I am particularly keen to hear from some passers-by who went to the victim’s aid during the incident as I believe they may have important information that could assist my investigation.”
