POLICE are searching for a furious motorist who punched and kicked a car in a road rage attack.

The incident happened shortly before 8.40am on Friday, March 24 in the car park at Tesco Express in New Road, Ferndown.

The victim, who is aged in his 50s and comes from Birmingham, was reversing his car into a bay when a man started shouting abuse from his vehicle as he couldn't drive past.

He then got out of his car and attempted to grab the victim through a window.

As the victim attempted to close the window, the man punched it twice before getting back into his car and parking nearby.

The offender then kicked the victim's car, damaging the door and breaking a wing mirror.

The victim – who was not physically injured in the incident – managed to take a photo of the suspect.

Police describe the offender as white, aged in his 20s, around five feet seven inches tall, of slim build and with some facial hair.

He wore a grey hooded top with the hood up, black baggy tracksuit bottoms and had green tattoos on both of his hands.

He was driving a black Ford Fiesta or Escort with alloy wheels and tinted windows.

PC Bill Nightingall, of East Dorset police, said: “The victim managed to get a photo of the suspect but unfortunately it does not capture his face.

“I am releasing this image as part of my investigation in the hope that someone can identify him via the clothing he was wearing."
