THREE people have been jailed for a total of 12 years after being convicted of dealing heroin and cocaine in Dorset.

The trio supplied the Class A drugs in Poole, Dorchester and Bridport and were jailed following a 13-day trial at Bournemouth Crown Court.

Kadeem Abbrey, 24, from Deptford, was jailed for seven years, Sophie Bowen, 19, from Brighton, was sentenced to three years behind bars and Stephan Broome, 59, from Princess Road in Bridport received a two-year sentence.

The court was told that Abbrey would send a large amount of text messages to local drug users on a daily basis to advertise drugs for sale.

He and Bowen would travel to London by train to get more drugs and Broome would drive them around, including dropping them off and picking them up at train stations.

The case was investigated by the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit, Zephyr, and spokeswoman DC Charlotte Wickenden said: "This organised crime group has exploited vulnerable members of the Dorset community in order to fund their drug operation.

"We hope this result demonstrates that we will actively seek those who choose a life of crime in illegal drug activity and demonstrates our commitment to dismantle, disrupt and destroy organised crime in the South West."
