THE owner of a £3,200 mountain bike has appealed for its safe return after it was stolen from the boot of his car.

The distinctive orange bike, which has the words 'orange' and 'five' written in black on the frame, was taken from Jumpers Road in Christchurch overnight on Sunday February 5.

Graham Williams said he thought he had locked his car, which was reversed into his driveway, but had not done so. He said the bike was taken between 11pm and 6am the following day.

"It is a very recognisable bike - you can't miss it" he said. "I would just ask the public to contact the police if they see it."

Anyone with information should call Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 55170018310.
