A MAN has avoided prison for stealing e-cigarettes and other items during two burglaries.

Mark Heyward, of Portland Road in Winton, was sentenced to 10 months imprisonment suspended for 18 months for breaking into BHVape on Charminster Road on February 16, 2015 and 11 Lymington Road on February 20.

Prosecutor Ceri Harrison told Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday that 20-year-old Heyward had stayed out of trouble since the incidents.

Mitigating, Robert Grey said Heyward had “turned a corner” and was being supported by his new girlfriend in court.

Judge Brian Forster QC ordered Heyward to 20 rehabilitation days with probation services and to pay a victim surcharge of £100.

“Please keep out of trouble,” he said.
