A BARRISTER has appeared in court charged with sexually abusing a boy in the 1970s.
Rupert Massey, 70, spoke only to give his name in a preliminary hearing held at Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court yesterday morning.
Massey, of Langdon Place, London, is charged with one count of buggery said to have been committed in Poole with a boy aged under 16 between October 1977 and October 1979.
Magistrates sent the case to Bournemouth Crown Court for trial, and Massey was released on unconditional bail to attend court for a case management hearing on October 6.
