A MAN has been ordered to work unpaid hours after he assaulted a woman at his home.

Joshua Beach, of Stirling Road, had driven the female to his flat after meeting her at The Brasshouse in Bournemouth, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

There the 21-year-old pushed the woman to the ground, twice, and onto a bed, during which she sustained bruising. He also threatened her with a knife, the prosecution said.

Beach pleaded guilty to assault by beating before Bournemouth Magistrates.

He was given a community order to last until March 6, 2018, during which he must participate in a designated programme, and undertake forty hours of unpaid work. He was also given a restraining order.
