SEVEN more convicted Christmas drink drivers have been punished and banned from driving by Bournemouth magistrates.

During last year's Dorset Police crackdown, which took place between December 1 and 31, 48 people were charged with drink or drug driving offences.

Appearing in court on December 31, 47-year-old Amanda Webber was handed a one year community order with a requirement that she complete 80 hours of unpaid work, after being caught drink driving in Dunyeats Road, Broadstone, on December 12.

Webber, of Wayfarers, Gosport, was breath tested and found to have 107 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, more than three times the limit of 35 micrograms.

She admitted the offence, and was also ordered to pay the Crown's costs of £85 and banned from driving for 25 months.

On the same day two others were sentenced, Jamie Gareth King, 51, of Carbery Avenue, Bournemouth, and Sandra Beesley, 47, of Camellia Close, Three Legged Cross.

King's Honda Civic was stopped by police in Ibbertson Road, Bournemouth, on December 13, and he was found to have 58 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of his breath. He pleaded guilty and magistrates banned him from driving for 14 months and issued a £340 fine and costs.
