A YOUNG man was attacked and beaten by three males after the Party in the Paddock event at Wimborne over the weekend.

Now police have appealed for help to trace the attackers.

They are particularly keen to speak to two "Good Samaritans" who helped the victim after the assault.

Sergeant Tim Travers said the attack took place in Lewens Lane, near to its junction with Park Lane, between midnight and 1am on Sunday.

"Following the closure of Party in the Paddock an altercation took place whereby a young man was attacked and beaten in the road by three males" he said.

"CCTV and house to house enquiries are being made and we are appealing to those people in the area at that time that may have witnessed some or all of this incident to make contact with police in confidence."

He said the two men who rushed to aid the victim may have vital evidence and added: "This incident has marred an otherwise very successful policing operation and we are keen to identify the cowardly thugs responsible."
