Dorset Police refuse to identify missing paedophiles

DORSET Police have refused to identify two convicted paedophiles who are walking the streets unchecked after they lost track of them.

The child sex offenders went missing after being placed on the sex offenders’ register despite rules stating they should notify police of their whereabouts or any changes to their details.

Their existence came to light after a Freedom of Information request to the Home Office revealed 138 paedophiles are missing in the UK, two in Dorset.

But a spokeswoman for Dorset Police told the Daily Echo: “Dorset Police do not comment on individual cases or operational matters with regard to the status of such offenders or safeguarding methods.”

Among the offenders missing across the UK are Stephen Clare, who has been on the run from Brighton for 11 years after sexually assaulting a girl of five and taking indecent pictures of children.

There are currently more than 500 sex offenders being monitored in Dorset.

The spokesman added: “Dorset Police have a dedicated team of specially trained officers to manage registered sex offenders in line with statutory requirements.

“This unit works in close partnership with other agencies. The safety of the community is always a fundamental priority within such an area of work.”

Perhaps they need a little retraining then.

Obviously not in these two cases, hang on, doesn't the police force work for us as we the tax payer pays their wages.

Really the safety of 2 men or the safety of 100's of children paedophiles should be hung drawn and quartered.

The police force don't work for the public, they work for the Queen. However, if you are going down the 'we pay their salary' route....surely they pay their own salary too? Police officers pay their council tax too......

Yes, it is a shame that the identities have to be protected. Any crime involving children is the worst type.

Hopefully they will get tracked down....but of course, they may not be in Dorset anymore! Just because they are on the SOR doesn't mean to say they have to stay in Dorset. They could have moved and not notified their local police force.

Oh come on If you at least show us the pictures of them we can help you find them faster? Protect our children!

The reason their identity has to be protected is to stop people like master plan deciding to hang, draw and quarter them rather than have them locked up. However, I supposed at least if they were quartered, they couldn't escape custody.....

They may well work for the Queen but she doesn't live in the real world where kids are getting abused, the police are there to protect the public and that includes children, I wonder what the story will be if one of these scumbags abuses a child.
I think masterplans idea is the best way to deal with this scum.

They don't work for the public? They are PUBLIC servant's for God's sake - they work for US and we pay them out of our taxes! What a ridiculous thing to say.

That makes me chuckle. It's people like you that make the job so difficult for the police.
Do you tell your local police what time to start? Or where to go? Or do they have to answer to you? No.....you don't. Yes, you may pay your taxes, but they do too....does that mean they work for themselves? Because they technically pay their own salary? No, it doesn't.
They are a public service, yes, but they do not work for the public.

Comments like that always make me chuckle.

Believe me, should any of these 'people' ever go near to my grandchildren, I'd be the first to take out a strong private prosecution against whoever I could locate in Dorset police for failing in their care of duty...and happily donate any compensation to NSPCC

Actually, they're crown servants, not public servants.

Little known fact here for you. The NSPCC actually funds the rehabilitation of pedophiles. They just don't mention it to anyone. FACT.
