THE first Five Quays Walk takes place this Sunday, a scenic and historical exploration of the centre of Poole.
Organised by Rotary in Poole, the 90-minute to two hour walk starts and finishes at Baiter Park near the public slipway and includes a map, treasure hunt and vouchers for local refreshments.
“We have drummed up quite a lot of enthusiasm for it,” said walk organiser Don Nutt.
“If the weather keeps dry we are looking at quite a big event, I think.”
The event starts at 10am and people can register and collect maps and route descriptions any time up to 2.30pm.
At 2.30pm there will be the first public performance of the A Different Drum, the Taiko Drumming band project of Hamworthy Community Partnership, repeated at 3.30pm.
Poole Mayor, Cllr Carol Evans is expected to attend during the afternoon and treasure hunt winner will be announced at 3.45pm.
