A NEW document that sets out the required standards for development such as new housing has been adopted by the New Forest National Park Authority.

It gives developers guidance over issues including car parking and cycling provision with new development, and the requirements on construction standards and open space.

The document also gives guidance on the authority’s affordable housing requirements and the consideration of development close to protected habitats.

The final version has been formally adopted after a range of people and organisations had their say, including town and parish councils, developers and landowners.

Pat Wyeth, chair of the planning and development control committee at New Forest National Park Authority, said: “The authority has worked closely with key partners, including Natural England, and has fully considered all of the responses received during the consultation in producing the final document.”
