POLICE are appealing for information after a Wimborne garage was broken into and goods worth up to £1,000 were taken.

Chris McKay, 40, a fire safety engineer, found his home’s garage door, in Stone Lane, had been forced open between 8pm on Sunday September 30, and 3am on Monday October 1.

Two Madd Gear mirco scooters, one red and one green, had been taken, along with his oldest son’s custom-made Norco mountain bike.

It had a burgundy frame and green saddle, and the combined value is between £800 and £1,000 He said: “The people who did this can’t have many morals if they are stealing from children.”

He added: “There were some low-value kids’ BMXs in there, but they hadn’t been taken, so it was just the high-value items that they were after.

“It is not only the fact that the items stolen belonged to the children, but they were absolutely hysterical, and scared of the fact that someone might come back again.

Dorset Police are appealing for information. Call them on 101.
