POLICE want to trace two men who punched a shop assistant in the face and threw a glass at him.

The incident started when a man who had been drinking entered a Tesco store in Lymington High Street and was abusive to staff who refused to serve him.

He then left, slapping a female shop worker on the buttocks.

He came back with another man and both were abusive to another staff member before punching him in the face. A pint glass was thrown at the assistant and alcohol knocked off the shelf as the attackers ran off towards the Quay.

The incident happened on Wednesday September 26 at 9.40pm. Police want to identify two men seen on CCTV footage.

The first is white, aged 28-35, with a skinhead and a tanned complexion. He is stocky, 5ft 9ins to 5ft 11ins, clean shaven with a scar from the right of his nose to just above his mouth. He has acne scars around his face and nose. He spoke with a Birmingham accent.

The second suspect is dark skinned, of chunky build and 5ft 9ins to 5ft 11ins. He is in his mid-30s with short, dark cropped hair, brown eyes and facial stubble.
