A HIT-and-run driver who left a cyclist unconscious on the road is being urged to give himself up.

The victim, a Purbeck man in his 30s, was knocked off his bicycle from behind on the A352 at East Stoke.

He was riding towards Wareham, at 6.10am on September 27, when an unknown vehicle collided with him.

The driver failed to stop, leaving the victim unconscious at the scene.

A Dorset Police spokesman said: “I urge the driver in question to do the right thing and speak with the police.

“The road, which runs between Wool and Wareham, was surprisingly busy and I believe other motorists would possibly witnessed the collision.”

The victim was treated at Poole Hospital for concussion.
