A DRIVER who sparked a media appeal after colliding with a young schoolboy in Poole earlier this week has handed himself into police.
Medics treated the shocked 12-year-old cyclist for “serious” injuries following the accident at the junction of Station Approach and Moor Road in Broadstone on Tuesday.
The Daily Echo featured the hunt for the driver on its front page today after Dorset Police asked for the media's help to track the motorist down.
At lunchtime officers confirmed the driver had handed himself in at his local police station.
A Dorset Police spokesman stressed: “The driver has not been arrested and is helping police with our enquiries.”
The police also thanked the media for help with the appeal.
