TWO property developers found guilty of causing the deaths of five trees in Sandbanks have started their appeal.
Alistair Collier and Harvey Lee were convicted of five offences of causing or permitting the protected pine trees to be destroyed last year.
On the opening day of their appeal prosecutors representing Poole council called their own officers to the witness stand to explain how they were called out to see the damaged trees in September 2010
Collier, 42, of Forest Lodge, Wareham, and Lee, 67, of Burton Road in Branksome Park, Poole, are appealing against offences relating to three Corsican Pines and two Scots Pines at 147 Banks Road.
