Families from Bournemouth and the surrounding area looking for free entertainment in the last week of the school holidays are being invited to join in the fun at this year’s Bournemouth Air Festival .

The event – with the strapline “by the sea and completely free” – features spectacular flying displays on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week, plus a host of free entertainment in the evenings, known as Night Air.

Deputy Council Leader and Cabinet Member for Education & Children’s Services Cllr Nicola Green said, “We know that families can really struggle to find affordable, fun entertainment for the children during the summer holidays, and that, as the weeks pass by, the money people have available to keep their children busy and entertained reduces.”

She continued, “The Air Festival really is completely free – dress for weather, bring a picnic, grab your spot on the beach and sit back & enjoy the show.”

Jenni Wilkinson, Head of Marketing, Yellow Buses , said: "Going by bus not only makes sense in terms of easing traffic on the roads but also offers great value with one of our family day passes costing just £7.50 for two adults and up to three children. We'll be running some additional services throughout the air festival and will be posting regular updates about our services on our social media sites including Facebook and Twitter. Whether you are travelling with us from Kinson, Southbourne , Boscombe or anywhere in our network - it's going to be very busy but we're well prepared."
