A WOMAN who threw a kitchen knife towards a neighbour has been given a suspended prison sentence.

Lyn Victoria Reeves, 56, of Daniel Drive, Wareham, admitted possession of a bladed article and appeared at Dorchester Crown Court to be sentenced.

Prosecutor Eileen Sproson explained that Reeves had been attempting to sell her flat to a man who lived nearby but was told by him that his mortgage application had been turned down.

She said the defendant returned to her flat briefly but soon reappeared at her neighbour’s garden.

“He went to walk into his flat when he heard something hit the wall, this was the knife that was recovered.”

Judge Roger Jarvis sentenced Reeves to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for a year. He also ordered that she carry out 180 hours of unpaid work in the community.
