GIVE yourselves a pat on the back.

For the past eight months we have been urging Echo readers to sign up to our Mine’s A Pint campaign, to increase blood donation throughout the area.

As a result, hundreds more lives will be saved this year, thanks to your generosity.

Jonathan Sewell, of NHS Blood and Transplant, has praised Echo readers for their support. He said: “We are very grateful to the paper for promoting blood donation through the Mine’s A Pint campaign. We’d also like to thank those donors who have come forward to help save lives.”

Throughout the South West region, where the appeal has taken place, blood stock levels are up by 30 per cent. But this is where the really hard work starts. Hopefully, people will realise they are making a difference and will continue to give blood in the future. Remember, if you keep giving you will save lives.
