IT’S almost time to get your cameras ready to capture all the action of the 2012 Bournemouth Air Festival .

Photographers of all ages are invited to take part in the Daily Echo/Castle Cameras air festival photographic competition during the four-day extravaganza, which gets under way on Thursday.

There are two categories, adult and junior (16 and under), and we want you to submit one picture that you feel captures the essence of the Air Festival 2012.

The adult prize is a Canon Powershot G12, and budding young photographers will compete to win a Samsung SH100.

Once you’ve chosen your best Air Festival 2012 image (only one entry per person) send us an email with your name, age (for juniors only), address and phone number to airfest2012@bournemouthecho.co.uk .

The file should be as large as possible, at least 500kb and state in the subject heading either ‘Adult Air Festival Comp’ or ‘Junior Air Festival Comp’.

We will display our favourite images in a gallery at bournemouthecho. co.uk/air and the deadline for entries is noon on Friday, September 7.

* Brochures are available from the Tourist Information Centre in Westover Road, the Daily Echo offices and at retail outlets across town.

They cost £6, which includes a wristband. £1 from each sale will go to the festival’s charities – the Jon Egging Trust, Hounds for Heroes and the Royal Navy Royal Marines Charity.

Each comes with a unique code that allows access to a website showing timetable changes.
