BOURNEMOUTH’S skies will be lit up once more this year with dazzling air displays as dusk falls.

The popular Night Air programme will be back bigger than ever at this year’s air festival, due to take place between August 30 and September 2.

The dusk entertainment will include incredible aerobatics, jumping Tigers, spectacular fireworks, stunning pyrotechnics and a host of family entertainment in the Lower Gardens.

The SWIP Team Twister Duo, sponsored by the Hotel Miramar, take to the skies with their stunning aerial tricks – with more chances to see them than ever before.

They fly on the Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm.

Also taking to the skies are the Tigers Freefall Parachute Display Team on the Thursday and Friday evenings.

Sponsored by Bournemouth Air-port, the team is set to jump from 10,000ft with glow sticks and smoke trails.

Bringing his barnstorming skills to the dusk air programme on the Thursday and Friday evenings is Brendan O’Brien’s Flying Circus, also sponsored by the Hotel Miramar.

And as the sun sets crowds will be able to enjoy the beauty and grace of the Spitfire.

Air festival director Jon Weaver said: “We are delighted to have such a fantastic dusk air programme jam-packed with even more thrilling displays.

“What’s more, we’ve got two nights of the popular fireworks on both the Friday and Saturday nights, with an extra pyrotechnic display from the SWIP Team Twister Duo on the Saturday night.

“This programme is guaranteed to brighten up the skies and is a great way to continue the festival atmosphere into the evening.”

There will also be plenty on the ground in the Lower Gardens each day from 5pm, as well as free music at Bournemouth Pier .
